Are your book choices influenced by friends and family? Do their recommendations carry weight for you? Or do you choose your books solely by what you want to read?

A day late. Never could get the hang of Thursdays. here’s mine
I’m so late! But here I am anyway:

The influence to read came from the books themselves. Good people are a good read. Biographies is a genre I enjoy much. Pick up a good read today.
I am late, but I still enjoyed participating:

Hmm. I’m more influenced if the book is about my area of interest (times of economic/environmental disaster).
My family and friends do not share my passion for reading. I like nothing better than to spend an afternoon in my favorite bookstore exploring the shelves for mystery books. Sometimes I have a title in mind that a student has recommended or one that I have read a review about that has captured my interest.
