Interview, Part 2

btt button

But enough about interviewing other people. It’s time I interviewed YOU.

1. What’s your favorite time of day to read?

2. Do you read during breakfast? (Assuming you eat breakfast.)

3. What’s your favorite breakfast food? (Noting that breakfast foods can be eaten any time of day.)

4. How many hours a day would you say you read?

5. Do you read more or less now than you did, say, 10 years ago?

6. Do you consider yourself a speed reader?

7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

8. Do you carry a book with you everywhere you go?

9. What KIND of book?

10. How old were you when you got your first library card?

11. What’s the oldest book you have in your collection? (Oldest physical copy? Longest in the collection? Oldest copyright?)

12. Do you read in bed?

13. Do you write in your books?

14. If you had one piece of advice to a new reader, what would it be?

15. What question have I NOT asked at BTT that you’d love me to ask? (Actually, leave the answer to this one in the comments on this post, huh? So I can find them when I need inspiration!)

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

I’m not sure there’s a question that HASN’T been asked on here! How about, have you ever read a random book left in a waiting room or on a park bench, etc., and did you like it?

  2. Here is my BTT.

To answer 15, my question is: why did you start doing this? Was it a curiousity about reading and what made readers tick?

  3. My question is . .

I’m not sure if youve asked it or not, but I’d like to know ‘if you had to pick only 5 books to read ever again, what would they be and why?’

    and heres my other answers

  4. Mine Is Up:
    http://www.thesocialfrog.com/?p=3365

Not sure as to what you should ask since I’ve not played along in a while!

  5. Here’s mine.

My other question is – Who taught you to read?

  6. haven’t participated a lot in BTT for a while, so I’m not sure if this has ever been asked:

Have you every written any fan-fiction? If yes, why and for which book(s)? If no, would you like to and for which books(s)?

Here are the rest of my answers: http://beyondstrangenewwords.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday-interview-part.html

  7. Rather than take up loads of room here I’m just going to answer a few of the questions:

    5. Do you read more or less now than you did 10 years ago?

More, lots, lots more! I’ve loved books my whole life and used to devour dozens each month but Uni and work commitments slowed me down as I got older. Since buying a kindle, joining a book club and finding book blogs I’ve quadrupled my reading habits in the past year!

    11. Oldest book in my collection:

I have a beautiful 1958 copy of The Secret Garden by F. Hodgson-Burnett. I couldn’t resist its faded cover and browning pages. (Three shillings and sixpence!) You can see it and read how it inspired me here: http://manchestermeanders.wordpress.com/2011/10/01/n4-guerrilla-gardening/

    14. Advice for a new reader:

Read everything you can get your hands on! If you don’t enjoy it you don’t have to finish it but if you don’t try reading it how will you know?

    15. New BTT question:

What book(s) have you read that you’re secretly ashamed to admit? Read my guilty confession here: http://manchestermeanders.wordpress.com/2011/08/02/book-swap-guilt/

  8. 15. What are your guilty pleasures when it comes to books?

  9. My answer is here

    My answer for #15 is…

I think just about everything has been asked and maybe this has been asked, too, but here it goes…What do you look for when reading a book blog? Does the blogger have to read the same genre? Do you like reviews? Personal posts? Memes? Giveaways? What attracts you to a book blog?

  10. 15. Do you have a favorite season of the year that you read more? (Example: during snow storms, rainy weather, or sunny and warm weather) Sorry, that was the best I could come up with…

    Great post : )

  19. This was a fun exercise! Here’s MY BTT POST and
    MY WEBSITE

As for a question you haven’t asked, I don’t always play, so I wouldn’t know. I’ve seen some intriguing questions posed by others, like what are your guilty pleasures? Who taught you to read?

  20. That was fun.

    http://bookeywookey.blogspot.com/2012/01/breakfast-reading-superpowers-and-other.html

    Here my questions from #15:
Are there any fictional characters whom you have emulated (or tried to)? Who and why?

Which non-series book would you most like to read the sequel to? Do you have any wishes for what might happen in it?

Have you ever fallen in love with a fictional character? Who and what about them did you love?

Have you ever used a book to instruct someone of something or is there anyone for whom you would like to do that? (I don’t mean a text book for a class, but a work of fiction or non-fiction that would get a certain message across either through plot or character). What is the book and what do you wish to impart?

  21. Where is your favorite place to read? On the beach? Inside/outside?

    http://www.lisasworldofbooks.net/?p=3485

  22. My question is: Do you ever wonder what makes other bloggers choose a specific genre/age level books as their favorite reads?

  23. My answer to 15 is: I haven’t participated long enough in this challenge to ask new questions. =)

  25. Very fun interview!! Thanks for hosting 😀 Here is MINE!!

3 – What genre do you avoid reading and why?

5 – What are your literary “pet peeves”?

    Here’s mine:
    http://theelifylop.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday-22.html

    And here are my questions:

Have you ever bought a book, started reading it and then realised you have already read it? If so, how far did you get? (Can you tell this happened to me for the first time ever this week!?!)

If I said to you think of a book you’ve read what would be the first one that comes to mind? Now tell me why it was that book.

    Sally.

  41. Here is mine: http://sefccw.posterous.com/booking-through-thursday-interview-part-2

#15 – What is it that makes you want to read a book by an author you have never read before?

  42. Here is mine:

    http://bonkersinbarnhart.com/?p=2137

I don’t have a good answer for #15 since I have not done BTT before — this is my first time 🙂

  43. here’s mine

    http://pearlthebookgirl.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday-11212_12.html

my question would be “What are the best book titles for different genres?” (for example, horror = The Forrest of Hands and Teeth”)

  44. http://javaideas.wordpress.com/2012/01/12/update-and-a-meme/

#15: What’s the first book to pop into your mind? Tell us about it.

  45. I love the questions!

    Here’s my post:

    Booking Through Thursday

And my answer to the last question: “If you had to choose to live within a novel, which would it be?”

  46. Here’s mine…http://beefcakeandbabes.com/2012/01/12/booking-through-thursday-34-interview-part-ii/
As for question #15, I can’t think of anything because it’s probably been asked already.

  47. Not sure about my answer for #15 since this is my first time participating…but I love the idea of this!

    Here are my answers… http://www.reading-kelly.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday.html

  48. I’m trailing in late, but I can’t resist a bookish survey so I’ve done it anyway! My post:
    http://musingsofabookshopgirl.blogspot.com/2012/01/btt-reader-survey-hooray.html

  49. This is so much fun!
    My answer is posted.

  50. Don’t know if you’ve ever asked this before, but: Name a book you love in a genre you normally don’t care for. What made you decide to read it? Did it make you want to try more in that genre?

  51. Tchanã! my FIRST BTT :3 in here http://milleniumofthebookworm.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday-1.html

    15. What question have I NOT asked at BTT that you’d love me to ask? (Actually, leave the answer to this one in the comments on this post, huh? So I can find them when I need inspiration!)
Well it’s my first time doing BTT so… I’ll suggest one but I don’t know for sure if you already asked it 😛 here it is… Do you have any pet that as a name inspired by your readings?

    Hope I did everything right ^^ ****

  52. Here is mine!

    http://mypersonalbookclub.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-sunday-1.html

And the last question (though I am very new here and you may have asked this already!)

What was the most emotional read you have ever had?

  53. I have to say that I prefer the questions that are just about books for this meme. The others felt too much like the “everything goes” meme I do, a href=”http://thefridayfive.livejournal.com”>the Friday Five.

My suggested question (here with my other answers) is something about a life-changing book. There have been books I loved, books that I fell in love with, and books that changed my life, and they’re not always the same nor mutually exclusive.

  54. So many GREAT answers here, folks! I’m not going to have to think of any new questions on my own for MONTHS! (grin) (In theory, at least.)
