Age-Inappropriate

In contrast to last week’s question–What do you think of censoring books BECAUSE of their intended age? Say, books too “old” for your kids to read?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  9. I am struggling with how much to share on this question because, as a teacher, I must negotiate competing parental views on this issue. If you’d be interested in hearing an English teacher’s POV on this, would you stop by and leave a comment on my blogpost “Three Questions” today? I’ll take the risk to post a response if there’s interest…http://whatsheread.blogspot.com/

  14. There are some things I don’t think kids should read, but I don’t see any way to have any kind of censorship without giving too much power to the crazies who don’t want kids to read about gay parents, etc. So I say, no censorship.
