There are certain types of books that I more or less assume all readers read. (Novels, for example.)

But then there are books that only YOU read. Instructional manuals for fly-fishing. How-to books for spinning yarn. How to cook the perfect souffle. Rebuilding car engines in three easy steps. Dog training for dummies. Rewiring your house without electrocuting yourself. Tips on how to build a NASCAR course in your backyard. Stuff like that.

What niche books do YOU read?

Donโ€™t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the commentsโ€”or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  27. ” When I write or share something about one of my friends in a posting, I always make sure I send them a copy of it, so they know what was said about them. Today I included information about you and your blog site in my posting, so I thought I should let you know about it as well.”

    The above paragraph is the first paragraph in an email I sent out today, to all of the owners of blogs whom host “theme days”, that I could find email addresses for. But I could not find an email address for your blog. The rest of the email is what I posted today on our blog. Go to: http://www.xanga.com/thehousethatlovebuilt to read it for yourself.

    Hopefully, it will then clarify of all of this for you ;-}

  39. Dreadful Penny

    I’m behind a week, so can I just put my weirdo answers here? Generally, I’m a sucker for fantasy and sci-fi, particularly kickass medieval girl heroines, steampunk, and dark SF. On a more pedestrian note, I’ll pretty much thumb through most books on organizing, personal finance (especially cheapskate p0rn like Tightwad Gazette knockoffs), cookbooks, and crocheting. I’m noticing that I’ve read an awful lot of weight-loss memoirs and books about compulsive hoarding in recent years, which maybe says something about myself that I’m not quite ready to hear ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. just getting caught up. ๐Ÿ™‚ I read animal rights and creativity books. In scifi/fantasy, I read animal fiction, animal partners and underwater novels!
