Best Bad Book?

Suggested by Janet:

The opposite of last week’s question: “What’s the best ‘worst’ book you’ve ever read — the one you like despite some negative reviews or features?”

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  1. Honestly I cannot think of a single book which was said to be bad but I liked it. I can think of a lot of movies though 🙂

I think it would be interesting to visit other participants and see what their lists are, it might remind me of something.

  2. Ditto with Violet. It goes back to my preference of not reading reviews, therefore not knowing what the rest of the world is reading… good or bad books. 🙂

  3. […] Thursday so time for another Booking Through Thursday meme. and this week Deb is really testing the brain cells by asking the opposite of last week’s question: […]

  4. Hi everyone, missed this for a few weeks, glad to be back!
    Here’s mine:

Hope you’re all having a good week!

  5. Lol, yes I choose a bad book that i almost choose as my worst ever book last week. Now that is weird.

  6. A very difficult question that raises more questions…

    Have a great Thursday!

  7. I’ve just found this site 2days ago n I think it’s really an interesting community.

I was planning to join this week question…but it’s really hard to answer.

I never read any reviews before buying books, I just go along with my insting…so I don’t know which books are considered to be bad.

Maybe I’ll find something after reading yours

  8. My post is up! Happy BTT everyone!

  9. I played too; mine’s a double-round, as I missed last week’s participation…

    Happy Reading, everybody!

  10. I played … I couldn’t think of one, though.

  11. Mine is up not really exciting but here it is:

    Booking Through Thursday #28

  12. My answer is up. This is a difficult question to answer.

The book I picked is not even bad, but critics thought so.

  13. Everyone has their own opinions, and tastes differ. But my post is on The Burton Review

  14. Are these questions getting harder or am I just getting dumber? Don’t answer that. Anyway, here’s my attempt:

  15. This was hard to think of, but I came up with a few answers here.

  17. Definitely hard, but I have an answer — and it’s not Twilight (though yes, I like that too)!

  18. I did an author because I could not think of one specific book – I’ll probably think of one in a day or two though. http://myreadingroom-crystal.blogspot.com/2009/03/booking-through-thursday.html

  19. Hi!
I am not posting a Booking Through Thursday this week. I can’t think of any book that was a worst but good book. I have read several I personally didn’t like but the writing wasn’t bad, I just didn’t like the genre. Have a great day!!

  20. I actually couldn’t think of one (it’s nice to see that other’s couldn’t either LOL) but I still posted the Q on my blog: http://themommyrambles.blogspot.com/2009/03/booking-through-thursday-best-worst.html

  21. This was a tough one, but I had blogged about this book before:

  22. I have posted my answer here.

  23. Mine was short. I’ve got the stomach flu, so I’m not feeling smart and witty… lol.

  24. It was easy for me. I have many books that I know aren’t very good, but that I love anyway. Here’s a brief profile of two of them:

  25. My best “worst” book is here!

  26. I didn’t really have an answer for this one, so –since I still wanted to play along in BTT this week– I used an older post, from last year, and answered that instead: The End.

  27. I tend not to read bad reviews of books I liked very often, so I’m just guessing here: http://personal.poppyphotodesign.com/2009/03/26/booking-through-thursday-2/

Thanks for choosing my question. I confess I found it difficult too!

  33. Booking Through Thursday on Friday – for me, this was a question about guilty pleasures.

  34. These are difficult topics and take some thought!

  35. Here’s mine. I know it took me a while to think of one.

  36. Lord of the Flies was required reading when I was in 8th grade and I hated it! I know it is considered a classic and I really should go back and read it with adult eyes, but I just haven’t been able to do that yet.

I also really liked Harry Potter, the first two in the series anyway, that’s all I’ve read so far. I actually read the books because I had some friends and family members tell me how horrible they thought they were. I knew that they were very popular and that I would need a reason WHY I wouldn’t let my kids read them when they brought them home. After the first book, I knew that I felt differently than my friends and that those books would be allowed in my house. At least when they got old enough not to be scared of them
