Manual Labor

btt button

  • Writing guides, grammar books, punctuation how-tos . . . do you read them? Not read them? How many writing books, grammar books, dictionaries–if any–do you have in your library?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

And also–Don’t forget, folks–sometimes WordPress’s spam filter seems to decide that a lot of perfectly valid answers are spam. I periodically check throughout the day for lost comments. But, PLEASE–if your comment doesn’t show, don’t post it four more times in the hopes that one of them will go through. If WordPress thinks you’re spamming, it’s not going to put any of them through until I tell it, and by then, I’ve got four times more comments to go through than I would have had. I get very, very tired trying to sort out the duplicates!

  22. I have my answer up. http://mommyreads.com/?p=69

This is an interestinig question thought.

  23. I have a few different grammar and punctuation books as I’m an English teacher and I use them to check things I’m uncertain of, or when I need activities or examples. The only one I have read is ‘Eat Shoots and Leaves’.

One massive dictionary and a huge thesaraus again used for school and when I was at uni. I’m always completely shocked at the amount of kids I teach that can’t use a dictionary – they know how it works but takes forever, far too used to spell check!
