Dessert first

Booking Through Thursday

  1. Do you cheat and peek ahead at the end of your books? Or do you resolutely read in sequence, as the author intended?
  2. And, if you don’t peek, do you ever feel tempted?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  18. I NEVER peek at the end…. but I’m ALWAYS tempted!

(Sometimes I will flip pages ahead just to see if a character is mentioned…to let me know if they are still around further ahead, or if they appear again… stuff like that.)

  19. I’m new here so this is my very first time participating and I’m looking forward to participating a lot more. But here’s my link to my post for today, Rowena’s BTT post.

    Happy Reading!

And may I say I appreciated the responses I received on last week’s question.

  26. Just wrote down my answer here: http://cozymurders.blogspot.com/2007/06/booking-through-thursday_14.html

I have to admit, occasionally, I read the end while I’m still in the middle of a book, but not very often. You can find a longer, more detailed answer on my blog – see the link above 🙂

  27. Oh, I love that this has gotten so popular! But pretty soon it’s going to go from “So Many Books, So little Time” to “So Many Blogs And You Want Me to WORK? You Crazy?” lol.

  35. Mine’s up:

I used to do that when I was a lot younger but I don’t do it anymore because 99,9% of the time it would ruin the fun for me. So I’m not tempted.

  36. Very late for this one as I have been away for a week – but my answer is up at my site now – I am not a peeker – but go and read why I may become one for the first time ever on July 21st 🙂

  37. Better late than never, I guess. Mine is up, hope everyone had a great weekend!

    1. Do you cheat and peek ahead at the end of your books? Or do you resolutely read in sequence, as the author intended?

Almost never. My mother does it routinely. She figures that if she doesn’t like the ending, why bother reading the rest of the book.

    2. And, if you don’t peek, do you ever feel tempted?

    Only on very rare occasions.

  39. Late again!

    1. No, I actually do not peek ahead. I like to be surprised heh.
    2. No, I usually don’t feel tempted either. lol

  40. Pretty late on this one… just liked the question.

  41. […] Question Number One: Do you cheat and peek ahead at the end of your books? Or do you resolutely read in sequence, as the author intended? And, if you don’t peek, do you ever feel tempted? I just can’t peek…just as all my DO NOT REMOVE tags remain on my mattress and pillows (grin). I would feel as though I am breaking some kind of law in the world of literature if I were to peek ahead….so I ‘resolutely read in sequence’. No, I have never been tempted to peek ahead…truly, even if people tell me a book is awesome I beg them not to tell me about it….I want to enjoy the journey from my perspective. Plus…if you read the ending first…you miss all the important details that make the book’s ending significant. […]
