Anticipation

What’s the last book you were really EXCITED to read?

And, were you excited about it in advance? Or did the excitement bloom while you were reading it?

Are there any books you’re excited about right NOW?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  1. I’m really no fun on this one. I tend to try not to judge a book before I read it. I’m also terribly untrendy so tend not to get excited about the latest and greatest.

  2. Antecipating a new read is always a good thing. If we’re not expecting something from a book, why would we read it: http://florestadelivros.blogspot.com/2011/08/booking-through-thursday-antecipacao.html

  3. depending on the book, i get excited, i get desapointed, or even suprised.. good question =D here’s my answer: http://osoutrosmonologos.blogspot.com/2011/08/btt-antecipacao.html

  4. […] Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme in which we answer a question about books or reading. What’s the last book you were really EXCITED to read? And, were you excited about it in advance? Or did the excitement bloom while you were reading it? Are there any books you’re excited about right NOW? I just read Room by Emma Donoghue and was pretty excited about it, not over the moon excited, but excited. I was curious in advance and more and more excited as I was reading. The same happened recently with The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint. The last book I can remember being over the moon with is Among Others by Jo Walton. It’s just amazingly wonderful. I started out curious because of raving reviews from people I trust, and ended up loving it. The last time I can remember eagerly waiting for a book, grabbing it and reading it the moment I could lay my fingers on it, was when I read All Clear by Connie Willis last year. I’m still excited. At the moment I’m reading The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I started out curious and by now (about 2/3 through it) I’ve long since gotten excited. Mostly I’m curious about books and the excitement comes when I’m reading. The eagerly awaited ones are usually in series that I love or by authors that I adore. […]
