    I don’t listen to any! I like to focus on the book. But sometimes when I’m listening to my iPod on the bus I’ll pick songs that remind me of what I’m reading – I just don’t usually do both at once!

    I usually don’t listen to music while I am reading a novel, or technical book; but I listen to jazz or blues while surfing the internet, or reading the newspaper/magazine.

    Most time the jazz or blues is something I downloaded from http://www.jamendo.com/.

    If I want to mentally invest in what I’m reading, I prefer instrumental stuff–pretty much anything John Williams, or the Gladiator score. Vocal/lyrics make stuff too distracting. If I’m just having something for background noise, doesn’t matter if there are vocals/lyrics, for the most part.

    I don’t usually listen to music while reading a book.

    I do like to listen to jazz or blues while reading the newspaper, a magazine, or surfing the web.

    The jazz or blues is usually downloaded from http://www.jamendo.com/en/, which has a lot of good stuff from all over the world, under Creative Commons licensing.

    I listen to all types of music–except for rap, metal and country. Sometimes I like classical, sometimes classic rock.

    I don’t usually listen to anything while I’m reading. Some background noise is fine, but usually I like the quiet. Otherwise I find myself re-reading the same paragraph if I can’t concentrate!
