Gluttony

Mariel suggested this week’s question

Book Gluttony! Are your eyes bigger than your book belly? Do you have a habit of buying up books far quicker than you could possibly read them? Have you had to curb your book buying habits until you can catch up with yourself? Or are you a controlled buyer, only purchasing books when you have run out of things to read?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  49. I do have a tendency to acquire books faster than I can read them, but I don’t buy em, I check em out from the local library, and renew em til I get em read.—-got three half read as I speak, and two behind that not started yet—-and the clock is running. (lol)

  50. I loved answering this question! Thanks!

    BTT: Gluttony

  53. Booking Through Thursday on Friday – and the short answer is “yes” :-).

  54. My eyes are definitely bigger than my book belly. I currently own at least 20 books that I haven’t read yet. But when I find a good deal on a book that I know I want, I can’t leave it on the shelf. Plus the fact that my family knows how much I love to read, so they buy me books as gifts, doesn’t help either. They get added to my list of “I want to read”s too.
But at least I know I shouldn’t run out of good things to read. Especially not for a LONG time.

  55. If the pile of books on my bedside table falls over, it will KILL me.

  58. Easy! I collect as many as possible books as possible. Shelves are sagging in the middle much to the boyfriend’s disgust. But it’s worth it to have my own personal library. No good to have read everything on your shelves is it?

  61. I only buy Doctor Who books. They’re getting harder and harder to find. I’m glad that Borders have them. I have been a fan of the show since freshman year of high school. I like each of the Doctors because of thier unique charateristics. The Doctor that led me to Doctor Who is Peter Davison. We just got cable TV and the local channels were different. So I came home from 2nd service where I was in the Handbell Choir, and I flipped through the TV channels and I recognized Peter from All Creatures Great and Small where he played Tristan Farnon.

  62. What happened to your butterfly button?

  63. Yes! I am currently on book-buying restrictions until I get through some of the unread books lying around my house. I’m also stuck in the middle of a novel that I’m just not into, but I insist on finishing! Ugh.
