The Best Book You’ve Never Read

btt button

We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.

What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  4. Hugely difficult question for me to answer because there so many books that I yearn to read (so much so they make my stomach churn when I think about them :o)). I’ve listed a few though, but I could go on indefinitely:

I don’t like reading all the books by my favourite authors at once, as I like to savour them. Sometimes, when I go through a stage of reading a few bad books in a row, I like to know that I can pick up a book knowing it will be great. These are a few of the books I’m most looking forward to reading:
Half of a Yellow Sun – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The God of Small Things – Arundhati Roy
The Post Birthday World – Lionel Shriver
The Night Watch – Sarah Waters
    Outlander – Diana Gabaldon
I’m also really intrigued by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, but I’m not convinced they will be in the same league.

  42. I’m up! Don’t really know what to say about a book I’ve never read…

  43. I don’t think my first post ever came through. Here is my link: http://nanscorner.wordpress.com/2009/03/05/booking-through-thursday-march-5/

  44. I’m a tad lazy to blog this hehe. I don’t really think I have such “best book I never read”. I don’t really read best sellers, and I tend to steer clear from what is popular. I suppose it’s more like truly not wanting to read the so-called best book ever. These would include “Tuesdays with Morrie”, “The Alchemist” and the Twilight series. 😀

Will put this later in my blog. Happy BTT!

  48. Happy BTT everybody. I enjoyed this question, but had to decide on two books instead of just one. Ulysses and Fiabe Italiane were my two choices. You can find my post here:
