  1. […] My favorite author is Sidney Sheldon. And yes, I have read every book written by him. But that does not mean I have liked all of them. I love Nora Roberts and Mary Higgins Clark too. And no, I haven’t read everything by them. I have read many books written by Nora Roberts partly because she does write a lot of books. I have read about 7-8 books by Mary Higgins Clark. Why do I love these authors? One reason is because their books were among the first books I read after Nancy Drews.   Once upon a time, when I did not have money to buy books and I was still studying, I did the only thing I could do. I joined a library. I am still a member of the same library but I don’t go there often. It stocks only popular authors. That’s the reason why my reading consisting of books by popular authors for many years.   When I started earning, I discovered the joy that is book stores. Today I read and enjoy many authors, some popular, some not so popular. I like Jodi Picoult, Torey Hayden, Anchee Min, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Alice Walker and many others. Lisa Kleypas and Tracy Higley are latest additions.   4. How about a least favorite author? I am listing my least favorite author just because he is extremely popular and my liking or not liking him is not going to create a dent in his popularity. Salman Rushdie: I tried reading a couple of his books, but I just couldn’t get into them.   5. An author you wanted to like, but didn’t? Same as above. And also Stephen king. But I have read just one book of his, so I don’t really know if this is fair. […]

Booking Through Thursday: 5 for Favorites

  32. 1. Do you have a favorite author? I have a lot of favorite authors that I will read no matter what: James Patterson, John Green, Laurie Halse Anderson, Beverly Lewis (I love Amish books), J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, Diane Gabaldon, ….I need to stop!

    2. Have you read everything he or she has written? no, wait I have read all of Laurie Halse Anderson’s books and J.K. Rowling’s.

    3. Did you LIKE everything? Most of the time yes

    4. How about a least favorite author? Well, she use to be my favorite- Patricia Cornwell. I have to say that I’ve been reading pretty good reviews of her newest Scarpetta book so I just may have to read it.

    5. An author you wanted to like, but didn’t? Gregory Maguire-hated Wicked, just hated it!! I had to FORCE myself to finish it….yuck!

http://web.me.com/davidkwilder – This should bring you to my main page. The BTT is currently on there.

  39. My favorite author at the moment is Patrick Davis. I’m really loving The Silent Note. It’s a great romantic mystery involving an old piano and a secret romance, and I’m having a hard time putting it down even when I should be working. 🙂
