Sunshine and Roses

btt button

The reverse of last week’s question:

Imagine that everything is going just swimmingly. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and all’s right with the world. You’re practically bouncing from health and have money in your pocket. The kids are playing and laughing, the puppy is chewing in the cutest possible manner on an officially-sanctioned chew toy, and in between moments of laughter for pure joy, you pick up a book to read . . .

What is it?

(Note: For the last two weeks, Akismet has blocked a lot of perfectly valid responses for no reason I can discern. If your comment doesn’t show up right away, just be patient–I’ll be checking the spam filter periodically throughout the day….)

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  3. Good question. What we read when times are good is just as telling as what we read to cheer ourselves up!

  14. This took more thought than last week, but I think my answer is – I’d be able to read more and have more patience with heavier books and books that have been on my TBR for a long time and I didn’t feel like getting to it.

Probably either something new or whatever I am in the middle of. The something new could be just about anything, depending on mood and what I have on hand.

  28. I’m on vacation now (in Sydney), but nothing’s stopping me from answering this week’s BTT. So here goes

  29. I would pick up a nancy drew book. They are so much fun, easy to read and remind me of my childhood (which was quite happy). I might also read essays by David Sedaris. They are hilarious and you don’t have to read all of them.
