How about First Editions? Are they something special? Or “just another book” to you?
Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!
I like old books. The cover art on books released in the ’50s and ’60s tends to be humorous, so when looking for a book that’s been in print for several decades, I look for older copies to see what interesting covers I can find.
I suppose there’s “something” about having a copy of a book’s first run (I have more than a few), but I don’t purpously seek out first editions online…I certainty wouldn’t pay extra just for the “first”iness. I would pay a little more for good cover art, that sort of thing.
My first btt in a few weeks. My answer is somewhere in between the two here.
Here’s mine – short, but sweet this week. 😉

Just answering here rather than the blog today: I love the idea of a first edition, but I wouldn’t seek one out or pay an exorbitant price for it. But if I happened across one at a decent price or someone gave me a first edition of a beloved novel as a gift, I’d love it.
First editions are priceless treasures. They are the “Holy Grail” of book lovers.
Because my answer was too “short & sweet” this week, I decided to go through the BTT archives and find another question to answer… http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/2010/12/02/btt-wish-list/. But, I also answered this week’s question in my post! So, check it out!
