Springing

btt button

Well, here where I live, Spring is sprung–weeks early, even. Our lilac bush looks like it will have flowers by this time next week instead of in the middle of May as usual. The dogwood trees, the magnolia trees–all the flowering trees are flowering. The daffodils and crocuses are, if anything, starting to fade. It may only be April 24th but it is very definitely Spring and, allergies notwithstanding, I’m happy to welcome the change of season. What I want to know, is:

Do your reading habits change in the Spring? Do you read gardening books? Even if you don’t have a garden? More light fiction than during the Winter? Less? Travel books? Light paperbacks you can stick in a knapsack?

Or do you pretty much read the same kinds of things in the Spring as you do the rest of the year?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

My reading habits and choice of reading material does not change with the seasons. I have a few authors that I enjoy reading and look forward to their new material. I don’t read many gardening books and I don’t have a garden but I would love to have one. I enjoy reading books by Stephen King, Jeffery Deaver, Dan Brown, Dean Koontz and Danielle Steele. There are others that I like but I cannot remember the authors.

  20. Sorry! I should have left my link…
    Here it is!

  23. The short answer is “no.” Find out why.

  24. Not sure what’s going on but I tried commenting 4 times this morning but not one of them came through. I’ll try once more.

  26. I was going to get up early and do this — so that I’d be at the top, I planned — but then I figured I should probably go to school and write my exam instead. Oh well.

  29. This is my third and last attempt to post my comment here in this thread. For some strange reason, the first two that I submitted didn’t go through! If there is a time delay, and they suddenly show up, please forgive the repetition.

This is what I was trying to say: I haven’t participated in the BTT in a few weeks. But I’m back! Here’s my answer to this week’s question:

    http://opheliasworld.blogspot.com/2008/04/booking-through-thursday-springing.html

  30. REMINDER!!

Don’t forget, folks–sometimes WordPress’s spam filter seems to decide that a lot of perfectly valid answers are spam. I periodically check throughout the day for lost comments. But, PLEASE–if your comment doesn’t show, don’t post it four more times in the hopes that one of them will go through. If WordPress thinks you’re spamming, it’s not going to put any of them through until I tell it, and by then, I’ve got four times more comments to go through than I would have had….

Now, that said, it’s great that there are so many responses today! I love it when I hit on a really good question….

  40. Thursday’s over, and – wow, I’m #125! Here’s my answer. Have a great weekend!

  41. Oh wow, I guess I wasn’t the only one who had a problem with the multiple posting! I didn’t realize WordPress considered my comment spam. So sorry about that! It’s never happened to me before, so I didn’t know about that… Now if only I could delete the duplicates of my comments above, I would. But for some reason, it doesn’t give me that option. Sorry again, Deb. Won’t happen again.
