Influence

Do other people influence what you choose to read? When a family member recommends something, or a friend says they hated a book you were planning to read … does it affect your reading choices?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  1. I do take family and friends recommendations and check them out to see if I might like them. My largest influence are my book clubs, where we vote on a book to read for the month and discuss. I have come across some really good books this way that I normally would not have read if left to my own devices.
I, also, like to check out the book review section of all magazines I read.

  2. Those who influence me: read about it at MY BTT POST

  5. Here’s my answer for this week! Have a good weekend!

  6. If someone tells me a book is good, I’ll get a sample of the book on my e-reader and see for myself if I like it or not. If they hated a book, I still might get a sample and see if I like it or not. It wouldn’t automatically put me off a book, particularly if I’d seen good reviews about it elsewhere.
